NHL Western Conference Review; In Haiku

With a quarter of the NHL’s 2017/18 season already under its belt, it’s time to take a look back and reflect on how the teams are performing at this early stage. Given that less is more, especially in today’s TL:DR society, I wanted to mix things up a little. Instead of the usual review format, we’ll be looking at each team using the form of the Haiku poem.

Last time we looked at the teams in the Eastern Conference, today it’s the turn of the west!

Anaheim Ducks

Both injured, Ducks make odd trades

Must do better now

 

Arizona Coyotes

Bottom of league

Usual arena woes

Might win lottery

 

Calgary Flames

Bad manners on ice

Lead to ban for Tkachuk, but

Can’t ignore strong start

 

Chicago Blackhawks

Former dynasty

Lays in ruins as Hawks sit

Outside playoff spot

 

Colorado Avalanche

Beat up in Sweden

Doing well without Duchene

No longer joke team

 

Dallas Stars

Chasing playoff spot

Is hard in central as Stars

Can’t maintain good form

 

Edmonton Oilers

McDavid still champ

But clear now team need more than

Just one messiah

 

Los Angeles Kings

LA keeps marching

Anze, Drew always on goal

Contender in west

Minnesota Wild

Down but not out yet

Need a big change if want to

Look serious

 

Nashville Predators

Solid on the road

Couture on career best
