We’ve known for some time that, thanks to some serious Bettman-ing, NHL players aren’t allowed to take part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. But there are plenty of former NHLers who’ll be appearing in the games. Here’s a breakdown of some names you might recognize who’ll be playing in the tournament. The men’s games start on February 14th with the gold medal game on February 25th. Can Canada Fight For Glory at Pyeongchang?

Team Canada announced its Men’s Hockey Team roster and due to the NHL refusing to allow its players to compete, the team is very different than last time. Coach Willie Desjardin hopes to repeat Sochi’s gold medal success. The roster will no doubt have Canada hockey fans feeling let down. NHL Wrong To Refuse Players Olympics

Everyone’s favourite villain, Gary Bettman, has drawn a line in the sand again. The NHL players will not be going to 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. For the last few weeks, this debate has been on the cards. Despite the Olympics being about the world’s elite, it’s best won’t be attending. The NHLPA has condemned the decision stating they “adamantly disagree with the NHL’s shortsighted decision.” Embed from Getty Images Every four years the Olympic break is one that has caused frustration to team owners.
