A 3-0 loss to Vegas in Game 7 wasn’t the ending the Canucks deserved. However, when you consider they battled from 3-1 down to force this game, the story reads differently. Vancouver showed a tremendous amount of spirit and skill. Travis Green and his young side have proven that there is life in this franchise with a clutch of new talent. The Stanley Cup won’t be returning to Canada for yet another year, but you have to concede this could be the start of something exciting. During their 8-2 home win over LA, the Vancouver Canucks announced Bo Horvat as the Captain. Henrik Sedin and Orland Kurtenbach were present during a special pre-game ceremony to hand the reigns over. Few Canucks fans could argue that this was a smart choice. Although Brock Boeser‘s drawn-out contract negotiation was a troubling sign, this is now sorted and there is hope in Vancouver this season. The Canucks for once have made a splash in the free-agent market. The attack has been strengthened on the wings and the blue line for once has sufficient depth. Last season Elias Pettersson‘s Calder winning efforts were a bright spot in another average year. This season Travis Green hopes put to B.C.’s finest back on the map again and not just play for draft picks. Notable Players In:  J.T. What Should the Montreal Canadiens Do with 3rd Overall Pick?

Putting it bluntly, the Montreal Canadiens are not on the upswing any time soon. General Manager, Marc Bergevin, has made few moves within the last few years that have benefited the historic franchise. Short or long term. The 21-time Stanley Cup organization has a monster opportunity at hand: the 3rd Draft selection. For most NHL teams, a top 3 selection could do wonders. But there is a problem: Bergevin rarely makes good decisions. The Habs are lucky to hold such power in the Draft but I cannot imagine fans are confident that it matters. Yesterday, I posted a poll on Twitter for hockey fans toRead More →
