The 4th Line Hockey Podcast #151 – The 2017-18 NHL Season Preview

The guys are back and they celebrate the return of hockey. Awards, Stanley Cup predictions and how much hair Jagr will have by the end of the season are the main topics on the fly. The fantasy league was drafted just minutes before the show was recorded and Carl complained about his picks even though he shouldn’t have. Spoilers: they didn’t pick the Oilers to win the cup. Confusion arises around the global “we” vs. the royal “we”. Is it Brett or Brent Burns?

The guys are both on Team Joel for the Calder Trophy and make their picks for Hart, Norris, Vezina and Jack Adams as wekk. They also realize that they would be great NHL owners.

They picked the first Hi Sticking games of the 2017-18 season. Play along on Twitter by picking who you think will score the GWG in each game.

Wednesday: Calgary Flames – Edmonton Oilers

Thursday: Pittsburgh Penguins – Chicago Blackhawks

Friday: Dallas Stars – Vegas Golden Knights

Saturday: Minnesota Wild – Carolina Hurricanes

Sunday: Montreal Canadiens – New York Rangers

Monday: Chicago Blackhawks – Toronto Maple Leafs

The 4th Line Podcast is a weekly hockey podcast hosted by Carl Landra and Joel Schnell. Every week they share their unique and fun take on what is happening in the world of hockey. While they don’t take themselves too seriously, they have a typical no 4th line attitude: what they lack in finesse, they make for in being willing to go to the corners and work hard to get the job done.

Who are Carl and Joel? Carl comes from Calgary, AB. His facial hair of choice is a mustache. His team of choice is the Colorado Avalanche and his smoked meat of choice is brisket. Joel comes from Nanaimo, BC. His facial hair of choice is a beard. His team of choice is the Toronto Maple Leafs and his smoked meat of choice is ribs.
